Amyris Inc (NASDAQ:AMRS) released a press note stating that Takasago International Corporation, which is renowned for creation of unique flavors and fragrance, has launched a new innovative fragrance.

The company noted that the new fragrance is developed using it’s technology. The fragrance is showcased at the 2016 World Perfumery Congress, which is taking place in Miami, Florida. Amyris said that it delivered on Takasago’s commitment to creating a fragrance through using high performance, sustainable and innovative materials, which are developed to create a lasting impact on its customers’ lives. The company credits the long-term relationship between the two behind the development of the new fragrance.

John Melo, President & CEO of Amyris, said that they are pleased with the successful launch of the product and smooth pace of this project. He added that partnership with Takasago is a testament to fact that global leaders believe in Amyris technology, which not only helps create innovative and high-performance products but also make supply chain sustainable.

Proven Technology

Meanwhile, Masayuki Mita, Senior Vice President of the Fragrance and Aroma Ingredients Division at Takasago, said that the new fragrance launch is very important to them. Mita went on to state that Amyris’s unique technology helped them to transform a molecule from concept into a real commercial product. The use of renewable resources further enhances value to them.

Amyris continues to gain traction among leading industry space as recently Cathay Pacific announced to have started two-year program, which will use the company’s renewable jet fuel for flights from Toulouse to Hong Kong. Amyris’ renewable jet fuel has already been used in the 12-hour flight by Cathay Pacific. Further, the carrier has highlighted the 30% reduction in CO2 emissions by using renewable jet fuel as against fossil fuels. In light of these facts, Cathay Pacific is committed to using Amyris’ bio jet fuel for the next two years.
