One of the largest apparel home furnishing retailer companies based in the United States, JC Penney Company Inc (NYSE:JCP) announced that the location of they’re first ever GIC (Global In-House Center) will be located in India, Bangalore to be specifical.

The opening date of the global in-house center is scheduled to be on the 22nd of August. This will be an extension of the home office in Plano, Texas, U.S.A.

The responsibilities of the global in-house center will be the enhancement of various critical business functions. These functions extend to and include IT and digital genres.

Risch further stated that this is the reason for why they are dedicating this GIC into focusing on their reporting capabilities as well as enhancing customer and associates interaction to be that of a fully integrated digital experience.

The hopes are to develop a pool of talent in order to direct and drive innovation in one of the most rapidly expanding technology hubs throughout the world.

Through implementing their GIC, numerous digital activities from various locations are now able to be situated under one roof. This aids in a higher success rate in driving innovation and critical business activities and data.

Furthermore, this move by JC Penney is a step in the right direction for the company with regards to becoming a world class Omni-channel retailer, with specific regards to mobile platforms.

This new GIC is located at the Embassy Manyata Business Park in Bangalore and is a complete 150, 000 square foot office space.
