Office Depot, Inc. (NASDAQ:ODP) Office Depot Foundation, in cooperation with Feed the Children, will sponsor the delivery and distribution of donations worth approximately $150,000 to the communities in Louisiana that had been affected by the recent flooding.

Charitable Commitments

Mary Wong, Office Depot Foundation President, reiterated that the organization’s longtime partnership with Feed the Children has always been reliable in providing assistance and support to victims of tragedies and calamities.

On Friday, two truckloads of relief goods and personal hygiene supplies had been delivered. Another truckload of relief goods will be delivered soon.

Aside from its collaboration with Feed the Children to provide and distribute relief goods, Office Depot Foundation has also pledged a donation worth $5,000 to the Humane Society to aid the recovery of the victims.

Leadership Reorganization

On Monday, Office Depot has revealed that Roland Smith, Office Depot CEO, will retire from his post as soon as a successor will have been elected. Nonetheless, he will retain his position as the Office Depot Chairman. The Office Depot Board of Directors is expected to officially name a new CEO by the end of the first quarter.

When Smith accepted the three-year contract to spearhead Office Depot in 2013, he noted that he had to set aside a number of priorities in his career. Now, he hopes to work on those endeavors following the fulfillment of his obligations as the CEO of Office Depot.

On the other hand, the company has appointed Troy Rice, Office Depot Executive Vice President (EVP) of Retail, as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) for North America. Under the new executive office, Rice will oversee the company’s contract, e-commerce, marketing, and retail operations in the US.

Meanwhile, Rob Koch, Office Depot Senior VP (SVP) of Real Estate has been appointed as the new EVP of Business Development. Under the newly-created office, Koch will oversee the identification and actualization of potential business opportunities. He will nonetheless retain his post as the company’s SVP of Real Estate.

Moreover, Steve Calkins, Office Depot EVP of Contract, has been promoted as the company’s new EVP and Chief Legal Officer, replacing Elisa Garcia.
