BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) seems unshaken by the much-awaited decision which will determine whether or not it will continue manufacturing phones. In what can only be described as a daring move, the tech giant, known for its steady assortment of protected business phones has gone ahead to launch an Android phone. BlackBerry Neon is the next big thing that seems to be creating so many thrills amongst many BB lovers. Apparently, everyone is on the lookout for what the tech firm has to offer given that it has suffered a significant downfall in its market share in the last few years.

The company claims that its new device is the world’s most secure Android Smartphone a statement that many customers are seeing as a source of comfort given the pronounced worries over their privacy being at risk.

Is the buying of the new BlackBerry’s Android phone worth it?

  • Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 617 processor
  • 3GB RAM and a 5.2-inch display
  • A Full HD resolution
  • 16GB onboard storage
  • A 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera

The device is significantly affordable with its $299 price tag which sounds so enticing. There are also some preloaded software features the likes of a secure password manager. But Geeky Ranjit, a tech blogger has a different thinking about Neon. The blogger’s view is that it is just a re-branded Alcatel Idol 4 with a little bit of customization. Nevertheless, the customization is what will draw a majority of users who adore security even though Ranjit has nothing positive about it neither the price.

Ranjit also thinks that the exclusion of the fingerprint scanner was not a good idea because it is one of the features that is so prevalent on the Android phones
