Neonode, Inc (NASDAQ:NEON) has confirmed the commencement of shipments for its revolutionary AirBar device marking yet another milestone as it continues to refine its marketing strategy. Customers who had placed pre-orders can now convert them into firm orders and wait for delivery within two weeks.

 AirBar Strong Demand

AirBar shipments should go a long way in bolstering Neonode revenue base given that the device has already elicited demand in over 40 countries. With over 20,000 pre-orders already placed, the company should be able to add on to the $2.8 million revenues generated in the second quarter.

Shipments will first target orders from the USA and Europe followed by Asia and the rest of the world. In addition to fulfilling firm orders, Neonode is still receiving orders on the AirBar website. By teaming up with Ingram Micro, Neonode hopes to ramp up sales as part of its marketing strategy.

Neonode is not only relying on its sales channel to ramp up sales. Through Ingram Micro, customers should be able to table orders at Amazon.com as well as Walmart.com and BestBuy.com as some of the distribution channels for the revolutionary device.

“We have established global distribution with the leading global technology distributor and have the world’s top retailers gearing up to sell our products,” said Remo Behdasht.

Neonode’s Robust Growth

The roll out of the product could not have come at a better time considering the optical interactive sensing technology company is fresh from posting a 13% increase in revenue. The company’s automotive business also continues to experience exponential growth having posted a 25% increase revenue in the recent quarter.

In the first half of the year, 500,000 cars shipped with Neonode technology with the company remaining confident of its products finding their way into more than 1.3 million cars by the end of the year. According to chief executive officer Thomas Eriksson, focus now shifts towards growing Neonode, Inc (NASDAQ:NEON) operations beyond infotainment systems.
