It’s hard to believe that one of Silicon Valley’s great comeback corporations is Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD). However, the company’s CEO – Lisa Su, says that it’s happening during an interview with VentureBeat.

This competitive resurgence is the reason the company’s stock has risen 13-fold in the past half a decade, to a market value of about $38.8 billion. Earlier this week, the company shared strong 3Q results – the highest quarterly revenue reported since 2005. In response to a question about the previous drop in the company’s stock, Su said that the company is on the right track on the implementation of its long-term strategic plan, and she firmly believes it’s making good progress.

During the interview, she disclosed that the AMD’s next-gen 7-nanometer Zen 2-based mobile processors are on the pipeline to ship in during the first quarter of 2020. She added that the company’s latest Epyc process with 64 cores enjoys a performance advantage over the famous Intel in the datacenter.

Though sales of microchips for previous generation game consoles are not high right now, Su expects a bounce-back during the third and fourth quarter of 2020. The company ramps up on massive production of the next-gen Sony and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) game consoles. She explained that AMD is currently undergoing a product transition, and much attention is focused on the success of the new consoles.

This is a historic opportunity for AMD the competitiveness of its Radeon, Ryzen, and Epyc chip categories. Besides, Su claimed that the chipmaker had gained customer processor unit share against the rival Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) for the eighth straight quarter.

Su exhibited optimism and excitement about the expected company’s performance in 2020. She promised consumers new next-generation products that are likely to flood markets early 2020. “You begin to see our new 7nm mobile chip and Zen 3 that are yet to be released,” said the AMD CEO. She was positive that this is a significant portfolio.

“Though 2019 was a big a big product year for the AMD, I firmly believe 2020 is going to be a bigger product year for us,” concluded Su.
