DRONE AVIATION HOLDI (OTCMKTS:DRNE) stated that its subsidiary Drone Aviation Corp. received aerostat related order to support ‘Blimp in a Box’ platform. The system is owned and operated by the U.S. Army. The company will deliver helium based aerial devices to the army which will be used in training and operations purpose.

The tools

Drone Aviation’s subsidiary operates in the segment of aerostat related equipments and develops the BiB and WASP aerostat based tools. The firm makes use of a high strength secure tether line grounded in the land. It enables user to operate as per the defined FAA regulations. The aerostat based tools extend communication feature to a number of application and have semi-persistent and mobile “ISR” features.

The tools are developed to offer cost-effective, mobile ISR and communications for different periods from days to weeks to months. The aerostats based tools are currently in use in several DoD applications. The main groups that deploy systems are the Local and State Police, and Department of Transportation. The purpose of the system is to offer silent, cost effective monitoring as well as effective mobile communications.

The capabilities

Felicia Hess, the Chief Executive said that Drone is proud to work in association with the Government clients who deploy the effective systems on regular basis. The groups function in stringent tactical environments and thus, the company would work to enhance the capabilities of systems. They will work to improve long-range wireless features and design new sensor packages to meet the growing requirements.

Drone Aviation will showcase the new tethered drones at “AUVSI Unmanned Systems Conference and Tradeshow”. It is a four-day event and will conclude on May 7. In last trading session, the stock price of Drone Aviation declined more than 15% to close the trading session at $0.220 on share volume of 480,424 compared to average share volume of 378,384.
