Kraig Biocraft Laboratories Inc (OTCMKTS:KBLB) the leading developer firm of spider silk based fibers, reported the development of Dragon Silk. It is the most flexible and strongest recombinant spider silk technology. The new product highlights a leap in the recombinant spider silk technology, having both the strength and elasticity factors of native spider silk.

The details

As per the report, a small count of Dragon Silk samples has shown tensile strength of 1.79 gigapascals, surpassing widely disclosed spider silk strength by as much as 37%. Several samples also showed elasticity above 38%, surpassing native dragline spider silk.

Kraig Biocraft reported that the new material has demonstrated it can be stronger than Big Red and more flexible compared to Monster Silk. The Company is now working to even out the performance across the entire genetic line of Dragon Silk.

Kim Thompson, the CEO and Founder of Kraig Biocraft, said that Dragon Silk is company’s most flexible and strongest recombinant spider silk material. They have never considered that native spider silk has the highest limit of flexibility and strength performance.

A few products, within the genetically engineered group, Dragon Silk, have shown impressive high level of performance in the lab. The company is now working to achieve standard performance throughout the product line.

The CEO further added that even as the team undertakes the standardization work, the research team is putting in efforts to develop more powerful transgenic. Dragon Silk highlights yet another material science innovation and enhances the expectations of standard of performance for spider silk technologies.

In last trading session, the stock price of Kraig Biocraft Laboratories Inc (OTCMKTS:KBLB) gained more than 3% to close the trading session at $0.0380. The gains came at a share volume of 5014 million compared to average share volume of 512,267. The market cap stands at 25.72 million.
