In last trading session, the stock price of Sohu.com Inc (NASDAQ:SOHU) declined 0.13% to close the day at $39.25. The decline came at a share volume of 94,659 compared to average share volume of 200,192.
Sohu.com, China’s pioneer online video, media, search and gaming business group reported that the company’s CFO and President Ms. Carol Yu will retire w.e.f July 31, 2016. The firm intends to retain Ms. Yu as its advisor for a transition period of six months, staring from August 2016 through the end of this year.
Also, upon Ms. Yu’s retirement, Ms. Joanna Lv will take on the position of acting CFO. Dr. Charles Zhang, the CEO and Chairman of Sohu.com, conveyed thanks to Ms. Yu for her extraordinary contributions and dedicated services to the company in the past twelve years. Ms. Joanna Lv is a part of Sohu team since August 2000. Currently, she serves as the Senior Finance Director, and looks after finance operations, including budget planning, treasury and financial reporting.
The management view
The CEO of Sohu.com said that Ms. Yu has helped the company to expand its portfolio of businesses, including Sogou and Changyou. She has many accomplishments in her name, such as Changyou’s Initial Public Offering and bringing in Tencent as strategic investor for the company. Sohu management respect her decision and wishes her a joyful retiring life.
Expressing her views, Ms. Yu said that Sohu is one of the leaders in Chinese internet, and the company has always respected social responsibility. She added that her gratitude towards Sohu and Zhang is beyond words. She feels privileged to be a part of the internet company. The past 12 years highlights the most accomplished and fulfilling part of her work life. She has the utmost confidence that the management will take the respective operations to new heights.
