Barrick Gold Corporation (USA)(NYSE:ABX) reported that it filed an updated technical report on EDGAR and SEDAR for its Lagunas Norte mine based in Peru. The report ropes the disclosure enclosed in Barrick’s PR of August 5, 2015, reporting the completion of an initial Economic evaluation on the “Refractory Material Mine Life Extension” Plan at Lagunas Norte.

In unrelated news, Barrick Gold reported that a cyanide carrying pipe at Veladero gold mine witnessed a leak and valve failure resulting in a brief disruption in operations. The company confirmed that there was no harm done to any of worker or on the surrounding river due to the incident.

As per the news, the new valve had been deployed and the incident is being investigated. Barrick Gold Corporation (USA)(NYSE:ABX) reported that leak was noticed immediately following which the faulty valve was closed in no time. The production was halted so that no harm was done to participant. Veladero comes in the group of the largest gold mines located in Argentina.
