VEON Ltd (ADR)(NASDAQ:VEON) reported that Josh Drew will be Group Chief Compliance Officer and also a member of company’s executive management team. Drew will report directly to company’s CEO, Jean-Yves Charlier.

The details

Drew joined VEON in 2016 as Associate General Counsel and recently as Acting Group Chief Compliance Officer. As an acting Group CCO, he has been responsible for directing a team of compliance experts across all of company’s operating markets to implement and establish an effective compliance program, while also suggesting senior management on core compliance, governance and risk concerns. In his profile as Group Chief Compliance Officer, Drew will continue to lead and advance company’s implementation of a robust compliance program, driving a philosophy of integrity and keeping the highest ethical standards.

Before joining VEON, Drew was VP and Associate General Counsel for more than five years at Hewlett-Packard and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, with responsibility for anti-corruption compliance and investigations. Jean-Yves Charlier, the CEO, expressed that Josh’s appointment shows company’s on-going commitment to the solidifying of their compliance program across all of their markets. His expertise will ensure that company continues to advance a world-class compliance activity and remarkable ethical culture, a plan that is of major importance to the senior management team and Supervisory Board.

VEON is a Euronext Amsterdam and NASDAQ-listed international provider of internet services and connectivity, with the objective to lead the personal internet revolution for more than 235 million consumers it currently serves, and several others in the coming years.

In unrelated news, the company reported a business deal to grow businesses in the enterprise segment. The collaboration will allow HGC and VEON to utilize their global backbone infrastructure, which comprises over 140 nations globally, in order to offer multinational consumers with their own dedicated VPN service. Both firms intend to enrich their portfolio of services with staged released of cloud computing, SDWAN and other ICT solutions.
